3843, Dash Speakers Posted by CoBen67, Sep-04-02 01:02 PM
Hey all,
It's been some time since I posted or was on the site....Looks rally nice!
Here is my question....
What size are the dask speakers? I tried 3 1/2" but they are too big! I blew one and want to replace it....I cant find anything after amrket that fits.
If anyone has 1 sitting around and want to sell it let me know. I would also be intereseted in a set if you prefer to sell them that way. My system is the stock infinity w/amp.
My email is LordCoben@hotmail.com
Thanks all for reading!

I believe they are three inches, I measured the cone diameter after removing the screen. Good luck in finding 3" speakers, I am still looking. Most shops will customize some tweeter mounts, or you can make some yourself. My system is not the Infinity one, not sure if there is a size difference, I doubt it.

Yeah, if you're nuts like me you'll do this.
Remove speakers from said location.
Remove grille.
Burrow out all speaker remains (cone, spider, bla bla)
Custom mount tweeters inside remaining basket.
Replace grille.
Shove back in hole.
:)
They are weird sizes...and no ^^^^^^^^infinity or not doesn't matter. There's been a bunch of posts about this in the last 2 weeks. Look around and you'll see some other suggestions. Someone mentioned eBay selling tweeters the size of our openings...but I don't trust anything that's $15 :)

Satan wants $56+ for a new speaker....ONE speaker for the dash!
Junk yards are the next stop

I bought the Lexons off Ebay and they are actually pretty good. They look a little cheap outside of the car, but once you put them in the dash they look good and sound good. Fit perfectly too! All in all, I would recommend them. They are cheap, but work well. Check it out.

What he said ^^^^^^^^. I just need to add a resistor to them, they are a little too loud. They do fit perfectly, and if you do not like the way they sound you might be able to dismantle/gut them and put in another brand, 10 bucks is a cheap and easy substitute for a mounting kit.
