3557, Where is the factory alarm brain?
Posted by fasterGS, Aug-10-02 04:28 AM
When they installed my alarm they didn't disable the factory alarm, so now every once in a while the factory alarm goes off when I open the door. I just want to unplug that damn thing, where is it??

That contains the keyless entry brain, but not the alarm brain, they are seperate. I removed the keyless entry brain from 0the car, and the alarm fuse when I put in my aftermarket alarm, and the factory alarm still functioned. I've never heard anyone on any of the forums actually find the "factory brain", I'm sure it's just a basic setup of relays, and flashers. Also, the ECU might have something to do with controlling it.

You can still permanantly disable the factory alarm though by finding the orange wire which comes in from the driver side door in the hole next to the interior fuse box (take the bolts off so you have room to work with). Tap into this wire with a wire grounded to your car.
