How did everyone run their speaker wire through the door jams. No matter how hard i try, i cant get a wire through. I really need to get these speakers in as soon as possible. The stockers are crakling like crazy when i turn up the volume.

When I changed my door speakers to Polk Audio 6.5" speakers, I just use the speaker wire that was already there. Basically I just swap the factory speakers for the New Polk Audio's.

Other wise there should be a rubber boot coming from the door to the interior of the car???

get a piece of solid wire or an electrical snake and run it through from the inside under the dash.... that is the best way.... don't use factory wire... it's under-rated for after market speakers..... get a good speaker wire and re-run it the way i said too....

Stock speaker wire is fine to use, i am, and no probs runnng 75+ watts through it. Unless you plan on pushing more than 75 watts or so, its perfectly fine to use the stock wiring. Its about the same gauge wire as the wire that comes with most aftermarket speakers anyway..But use a coathanger or similar to go though the boot, then attach the wire to it, then pull it through the boot. Thats it.

i Can get the wire from the door and through the boot no prob but i cant get it into the car. It seems that there is something in the way. I havent tried the passenger side but on the drivers side theer is so much crap in the way (wires etc) that i was un successful trying to go from the inside out. If Xtreme says the stock wire is ok to use i think i am just going to give up and use that.

if your not going to amp the speaker than i would say ok but if your going to amp it put in a better wire...... I deal with electrical on an everyday basic so i think I know what i'm talking about... The smaller the wire the more amps it will pull.. thus creating more heat which breaks things down....... and go with a heavier wire than what comes with the speaker.... 14awg would be good

depending on how long the wire is will tell you what gauge to use, but 16 gauge should be fine.. a lot of people buy a lot bigger wire than they actually need to b.c they think it'll be better, but they're just spending more money... i just put new woofers in my doors and used new wire b.c I didn't want to try to find where the stock wires go and all that and didn't want to just cut it by the headunit since it splits off somewhere else for the tweeter and woofer.

i was using a coat hanger to do my car and my brothers accord.. i was going to buy a snake but didn't want to drive to the store.. just keep trying to get the coat hanger or whatever you use through.. also what you might try to do.. with one hand try to push the hanger through, with the other, try to reach under the dash at the same time to try to find the hanger..

Guys, it's not that hard....professional installer here and I see this all the time. If your factory wires are still in the door you just electrical tape your new wire to the factory wire then yank the factory wire into your car. This will pull the new wire all the way through. DO NOT PULL TOO HARD!!!!! You have to pull hard enough to get it through but not so much you pull off the tape cuz then you're screwed.

Tape about a 6" overlap between the wires and you should be set.
