Well due to recent events I have decided my factory alarm just won't cut it. I am contiplating installing the alarm myself... but I have no idea how to disable the factory alarm so it wouldn't be in the way. Can I just pull the fuse? If it is going to be too hard I will just have an alarm installed, its just that I know they will charge me to disable the factory alarm. TIA

Someone has to have an idea!! I need this info quick, so I can either order my alarm or schedule the install time!!!!!

i'm not positive on this, but i think a lot of aftermarket alarms have a wire that you can connect to your current alarm to disarm it when you disarm the new alarm.. if not, you could just trace the wires..or you could just take away the power.. if you do trace it back to the brain.. then you can use some of the connections from the stock alarm to connect wires for door locks and other things like that.. as long as you take your time to make all the connections good, and hide everything good, you should be able to do it yourself.. for a first alarm install it would probably take you a day or two.. but it could take less.. if you know of a REALLY good installer and don't want to be troubled, you can just have them do it for you..

The factory alarm does not have a "brain" like most alarms, it's a series of relays, flashers, and help from the ecu to send the zones. Most installers mistake the factory keyless entry reciever behind the rear driverside passenger trim panel to control the alarm.
