3263, ok....need help on head unit install Posted by BuckNutty, Jul-16-02 10:20 AM
I put everything together all the wires look all set imo. But i am not getting ANY power. What wires are the constant power and the accessory power? I replaced the fuse for it under the hood and am now lost and confused as to why it is not working. Help por favor :D If it makes a difference, i am putting a 99 eclipse head unit into a 95 Talon.

Well...first thing make sure it is grounded. I had the same problem on my install. I was using a wiring harness so I didn't have to cut the factory wires and it was wired wrong. I had to use a test light to find the correct wires.
Boy this would sure be a much more helpful post if I were able to remeber which wires were correct.

ok.. should be: blue wire - power antenna orange - illumination(when you turn your lights on the radio will dim, but only hook this up if the radio has this option, which im not sure of for stock) yellow - constant 12v power red - switched 12v power
and be sure to attatch the black wire to the body of the car, that is the ground.
