3139, installing lock actuators and alarm ??? Posted by mike_d, Jul-04-02 07:05 AM
Basically this is the first time i have attemped this so im looking for a walk through on installing the alarm and the actuators. So far i have mounted all the alarm components (shock sensor, brain, siren) but i have not wired anything. the lock actuators i got off of ebay and they do not have any insructions so im looking for a pic of how they mount in the door or at least an explanation. The alarm is an Avital Phoenix and the car is a 1995 Eagle Talon ESI (no power windows or locks). Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Check out the link in my signature for the wiring info you will need to hook up your alarm. As for the lock actuators, its kinda hard to explain how to do. Take off your door panel, and find the rod that works the lock lever itself. You want to use that. Your lock actuator should come with a metal rod, and a device to connect that metal rod to the car's metal lock rod. Just find the best place on the car's lock rod to attach the actuator's metal rod, all in the same time being sure you have the best place to mount the actuator, and that the door panel will fit back on properly. After you see how its all in there, you should be able to do it. After its in, just run the wires through the door boot and into the car.
