My amp is a 1 ohm stable amp and i was going to hook up to 4ohm dvc subs to get 1 ohm, but some one told me that is not a good idea because when subs' cone are at the xmaxs that teh resistance drops alittle and it will cause the 1 ohm amp to blow, is this true?

also, my door speakers are 5.25", I was thinking of removing the factory plastic speaker hold and put a peice of wood or something and put a 6.5 in. But i noticed the factory piece covers the back of the speaker. Do i need to cover the back of the 6.5"? It is water proof in the door?

When dynomating do you dynomat the metal under the plactic or the back of the plastic? All this vibration is driving me nuts. Also, what do you do about those clips? the clip make the dynomat fall off.

1) Resistance varies with frequency, but impedence is constant (or at least constant enuf not to matter, or else everyone would be blowing stuff), so you're plan is fine

2) i think most people just put them in free-air, you can get XTC foam baffles if you're worried, but they should be fine.

3) use dynomat on the metal areas and vblok/damping spray on the plastic (door panel)
