on fuses does higher the number mean it has more resistance I mean more protection or is it vice versa?

A higher number fuse means it has more current carring capability. So a 25 amp fuse can let 25 amps of current through it, as a 15 amp will let 15 amps through it. Any more amps other than the rating on the fuse, it will blow. And a common mistake when people replace fuses that keep blowing, is that they put in a higher rated fuse for a lower rated one. Never do this, as the circuit was designed to be rated at the lower fuse..If a fuse keeps blowing, find the problem of why it is.
