ijust boughta amp from someone and i have spent all day trying to get it to work i dont know what the problem is ive tried every combo of wireing the power lights on anything litte i could be missing?

I hope you didn't reverse the + and - connections on the amp, that would hurt it, or completley blow it. Be sure you have power at the amp, and be sure you have a good, clean, tight ground. By this i mean have the ground wire touching bare metal, preferably with a ring terminal end on the wire, and a small bolt going throug it bolted to the body of the car, on bare metal. Also, be sure you have the amp turn-on wire connected, and that this wire powers up with 12+ volts when you turn on your head unit. If all of that is correct, then check your speaker wiring, and if all else is good, then suspect a bad amp..

you can do a really quick check on it, just take it to the front of the car, combine your +12 and remote lead, and then touch those to your positive term and the ground to the negative, if it lights up then you know you have issues somewhere in your install at that back of the car, no lights and you know bad amp....good luck either way....

Not true. All this will prove is that the amp powers up. The problem could be with the output of the amp. Did you say that the power light turns on? If so, it's probably the output. What kind of amp is it?

before I did any wiring checks, I would check the fuses on both the amp, and hopefully you put in an inline fuse under the hood. after that I would check the wiring and the amp.
