2455, Check this.. Help Mr. Dark-O! Posted by DarkOne, May-10-02 07:02 PM
Only reason i post here, most stereo people do good wiring and people ythat do good wiring know these things. I suck at wiring. I do sloppy wiring jobs, because i'd rather have it function than look pretty: If it works, i don't care how it looks. Anyway...
I have an Audiovox/Prestige (clicker says Audiovox, alarm sticker and box say Prestige) alarm, and my clicker is dying. The buttons on the board are crapped up, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
Where can i get a new clicker? I have no idea who installed this alarm, or when it was installed. It came with the car.
Help?

your best bet if sum one in ur area works with that brand of alarm, they will be able to get u a new one. I know that once the clicker thingy starts to go, its gone they take a beating. so just call around and tell the guy if he installs ur brand and if he dose just go there and say they installed it and now the clicker is dead.

Yep, your best bet is to find out the model # of the alarm. It should be on the alarm brain somewhere. I would then call around to as many install shops as you can to find out who installs Audiovox alarms, you should find at least one. Try smaller, non-audio related shops, they are more likely to carry Audiovox. Look for shops that do all kinds of work, not just stereos and alarms, since those kind of shops will most likely carry more popular brands of systems, like DEI and Code Alarm. Once you find one, they should be able to get you a new remote, maybe not, if its really old, you may have some trouble finding a new one..

Try a Circuit City near you. I know they are carrying the Audiovox-Prestige alarms now, so they should be able to get a remote for you.

Sweet. I ordered the exact same clicker through onlyremotes.com, got it in exactly the shipping time (5 days) and it worked right out of the box. I now have RANGE again, and a button that WORKS!
You guys kick so much ass.
