1763, some alarm questions Posted by soldier101, Mar-04-02 04:34 AM
I wanna be able to tap my headlights into my alarm system (when I press lock and unlock on keyless entry I want the lights to blink a certain way so I'm positive I've locked the door) plus it's hard to see the little mirror lights during the day. and I want to tie them in so they blink when alarm goes off (and just for fun, wanna hook my stereo up so it plays when the alarm goes off IE: when I get my system in in 18 days.....the bass plays LOUD :))

Do you have an aftermarket alarm? If so, then its really easy to flash the headlights or really whatever you want. But by doing the headlights, you will put more drain on your battery. If you want your bass to play, then you will def drain you battery pretty quickly. If you are near you car all the time, then its really no worry, but if you are far from it, and the alarm goes off constantly, your battery will be drained very quickly, making it easy on the thief. Your best bet is to flash the parking lights with the horn, and you should be ok with that. IF you have the factory alarm, do a search, not long ago someone hooked up the parking lights to flash when the door locks with the factory keyless entry remote. You could also honk the horn instead of the lights too, just depends on what you want to do..

yeah, dont do the headlights, it takes too much power.
my friend had this clifford alarm and the guy at the shop hooked it up where he could press a button on the alarm and it would turn the radio on. you could do that instead of turning the stereo on every time you arm the alarm. but you would have to have an auxillary channel or button on your remote
system in 18 days? what are you getting? need help?
