Im bidding on a bazooka 10in powered sub on ebay and it looks like im gonna win. So how hard is it to wire everything and what not. Do i need anything other than what the sub comes with?? tia

It should not be that difficult, just mounting it. I think the tubes just have a positive and negative input. Should be really easy. Just run the wires from your amp, plug em in, bam!!! Instant bass. Not as much as 2 10"'s in a box, but much easier. Good Luck

Well I went to sasbazooka.com and looked at the online manual and you have to wire it to the battery, the headunit and ground it. That may be a bit too much for me. How much would it cost to have a car audio place do it for me, would it be cheaper if I went ahead and mounted it in the car and just had them do the wiring?? Thanks

hey.. what model you got for a toob?? if you gotta wire it to the batt and the head unit.. it most likely means that you have a built in amp with the tube.. If I remember correctly.. some of them come that way.. while others only come with just the speaker..
The install for everything isn't that hard, especially if you have a aftermarket head unit. Just attack the remote wire to the remote wire on the tube, and run a 8gauge cable from the bat to the tube.. its not that hard.. it shouldn't cost you more than 30 bucks if you take it to someone to get it done.

I have the Bazooka RS 10 in. If it's the El, don't get it. The RS's are a lot better. Anyway... To install it is not as hard as others but you still need to run a postive wire straight from the battery and ground it. Mounting it is easy. you need to screw down two plasic pieces and then strap the sub to the plasic pieces. It works great.

around here car shops $50/hr to install.... but in my opinion its not worth it... its really alot easier that it sounds.... and after all ..we'll all be here to help you...

Hey GG i sent you an email, did you get it?? I had some questions about how you wired everything and where you mounted the sub in the trunk. Its not here yet, but it should be in a couple of days.

All you need is a lead to the battery to power the interanl amp, a switched +12V like from your lighter or if you want the power ant. from the head unit, a clean ground point, and to tap into your factory speakers to provide the signal. The amped Bazookas have a built in line adapter so you can run a speaker level input into them. The whole process should only take about 30-45 mins if your careful. If you haven't used or heard a Bazooka sub before be warned that while you will get bass, they are very punchy in sound, you won't get the rolling bottom end like you will with a true enclosure.....but for those in a pinch, why not go for it...:)

I heard Bazookas work really well especially in hatchbacks. Aim it towards the trunk a few intches away from the corner. Also, the wiring is just like you would wire any sub. You need to have an aftermarket head unit with RCA pre-outs. You hook up RCA cables and remote wire to the amp, and then power and ground. You'll have to take out some interior panels and run the wire under the carpet. It's a tedious process, and if you're unsure about what to connect to, maybe you can run the wires from front to back of the car, then have a shop install for aoubt 50 bucks. Just to give you an idea, a local shop wanted 100 bucks to do a full install on just an amp. Now that I've done it once with the help of a socal dsm-er, I know how to do it. It's not hard, but might be if you don't know what to connect to...

Hmmm how did you access the RCA preouts without removing any panels? And how did you run the power wire under the carpet? I had to do mine right by the door, so I had to take that plastic piece by the door off, and then it went up the side, and under the seats, to the amp in the trunk. I also ran my RCA cables and Power cables on opposite sides of the car, which is what you should do for least interference. Good luck on the install.

Not sure if the factory head unit has pre-outs, my car came sans radio since I was pulling it out anyways. All you need is a line level adapter, they sell them just about anywhere that sells stereo equipment for like 25 bucks. All you need to do then is tap your speaker leads and run the hi-level signals in and it outputs to low level RCA's...easy as cake. The better ones have a gain control for each channel on them too to better balance your sound. And you can always just tap the back side of your fuse for the lighter for a switched 12V for the remote.....

Ya that works too, but the signal is not nearly as clean as using RCA cables if your head unit has RCA preouts (especially if they are high voltage preouts). If you have a stock head unit, then there are no rca preouts, so then you'd have to do what he just said...

Well I have a Rockford Fosgate 9110G Headunit. Its an MP3 player and it comes with low level RCA jacks. The sub needs to be connected to high level jacks according to the manual. They suggested connecting the sub to the left and right rear speaker for the input, that way all I have to do is ground it, run the wire to the battery and then to the cig lighter. Where should I ground it?? I was thinking about putting the ground in the metal under the rear seats, will this work??

If your deck already has RCA cables, it is WAY CLEANER to get the signal from the deck, rather than get the signal by splicing into the rear speaker wires. Usually that is not a good way to get the signal to the amp, unless your head units doesn't have preouts. I'm sure the RF amp should allow you have to connect to the RCA preouts of your head unit, and that way, if you head unit has a signal control, you can control the signal to the amp itself. LIke my pioneer premiere has from -6 to +6 so you can also adjust the signal strength to the amp (ano not just use tha gains on the amp to adjust it). Hopet hat made sense...

Did you use low level outputs with yours?? And where did you ground yours?? Is any metal surface in the car alright, like under the rear seats.

You can ground it pretty much anywhere look for a smaller screw or something it'll work fine.

Ground it anywhere you can get bare metal, and use a good ring terminal and bolt it down. If your bazooka only uses highlevel inputs, you CANNOT use the low level rca outputs on your deck. Just hook up the rear speaker wires for the signal input on the sub. Rca signal is a better signal, but when it comes to something like a bazooka sub, you won't notice a difference. If you were going to amp your door speakers or whatever by using high level inputs, you will notice a quality difference. Now if the bazooka has rca inputs, well then, you are all set!

Thanks xtreme. You are always so helpful. I think I will just use the RCA jacks instead of splicing the wires. Its easier that way. I cant wait for it to get here now. Should be here by wed though.
