Anyone have trouble installing pioneer decks?? I got mine in but it sits a little too far back to put the trim piece on it. So on either side ive got those ugle little pins showing. I thought about cutting the factory bezel a little bit but I wanted to see if there were any other options first. TIA

How are you trying to mount it? Iso-mount, or with a mounting kit?

I've had troubles getting iso-mount installs to work right in 2G DSM's. The trim ring never seems to fit perfectly, and on my car, it would slip down and interfere with the movement of the motorized faceplate.

One mounting kit and 15 minutes later, it worked perfectly.

The BOZOS at Bestbuy tried to use a kit first, but it wouldnt let the face flip down. SO i took it home and used the factory radio mounts. I did this on my 97 with an Apline deck and it fit perfectly. This one is being a pain in the ass though

And the trim ring wont fit at all... the radio is just a little tiny bit behind the HVAC bezel.

Sounds like the guys at Best Buy used the wrong kit, then.

The kit I used was a Metra kit... item #99-7006. If you just can't get the iso-mount to work, go into Ultimate Electronics and ask for that Metra kit(I think there's an Ultimate in Thornton). I *know* we carry it, as I bought mine at our store. There's a chance they'll be out of stock(it is a very hard kit to keep in stock, at least in this market), but it can be ordered.

Like I said, I tried to iso-mount my Alpine 7873, and it just wouldn't work properly... the kit at 15 minutes had it working like a dream.

Yeah, they are... I always forget you Colorado freaks have to call it something different than the majority of the rest of the company :P

And the kit will come with instructions, if you need them... only tools required are a phillps screwdriver to remove the center console, and a set of snips or a sharp knife to cut off the shaft holes.

i dont think ive seen an infinity stock head unit.. what din size is it? if its single din, the fit should be fine without any kit.. if its any bigger than a single din, than yea, just get a dash kit.. very simple to do, just follow the instructions

I dont have the infinity, I have the double din cd/tape deck. I believe the infinity also is double din though.
