I fried my eclipse amp (atleast 10 years old) and i'm looking for something to power my 2 boston acoustics 'competitor' series woofers. 10", urethane cones, 1000watts peak, 4ohm SVC. Not sure of the rms. I do know they hit hard had hell, hit every note and the passive resonators that came with them make a difference. Way better than a bandpass box, imo.

So i was wondering if the mrd-m1005 was reliable enough to pound the shit out of my subs for hours on end.

A friend recommended me this (Pioneer Premier 880PRS) head unit based on my requirements (easy to use, eq, ipod hookup, good preamp outputs). Good?
