So when I put in the cd I get this message E 01, and the cd wont play, i come back to my car like 2 hours later and it works again, whats the problem. You hear the cd spinnin then you just get the e 01 message

Is it a burned cd that you are trying to play? The only time that I have seen that is when I try to play a burned cd, that was not burned correctly. It might be the laser in the player, you might try cleaning it. Does it do it with all cd's, even store bought ones? If not it might just be that one cd.

I bet its b/c there all burned cds i havent bought a cd in teh store in like 5 years, maybe i weakend my laser huh, since it has to read stronger to read burned cds, i have never tried a bought cd, so its probably that

alot of it has to do with the brand of cdrs you buy. I've seen the verbetem 80min ones not work well in many units. the tdks aren't always the greatest either. I've never had any trouble with sony cdrs. you pay a little more, but you get what you pay for.

the manual of the cd player should have the reason for the code, it could aslo be that the cd is scratched or dirty or something

Yeah, I was at the USAC finals. I would be curious to see some of the pics from the event. Does he have them posted on a website?
