i added one to my gf's escort, and all i had to do was tune the radio to 88.7 fm. it spliced into the antenna hook up on her stock radio. as for controling it, they come with a remote

you can hook up an fm modulated one but then you'd be getting radio quality instead of cd quality and if you have reception problems it will hurt the signal. Or you can get the factory one if you have the outputs. Or you can get a connector that fits a certain cd changer that will mate with your stock unit if it has ouputs (you can get these at sounddomain or crutchfield). I think the best option would be to get a factory changer if you have the ouputs or just buy an aftermarket tape deck and changer for like $200, better quality than the factory.
