Hey i really need some help! Outside my car hooked up to the indoor cd player my subs sounded AWESOME in a sealed enclosure. Now i have them hooked up and they sound like dog poo in my car. I have 2 12" Kicker Comps and a 4-channel 300 watt amp. I just have the subs running from the rear channels. Can someone help me and tell me if this is how i should wire them or if there is a better way, and any other tips? and also i put them in a bandpass box because i sold my sealed enclosure, could this also be why they suck now? Any help would make my day cuz i wanna boom again. Thanx

I would suggest bridging your 4 channels into 2 to get a little more power to the amps. Could be you just don't have enough power going to them and are getting a "clipping" effect. Try adjusting your Gain and x-over frequency on the amp also to clean up the sound a little if it still sounds like crap.

Thanx a lot that is what i thought i should do, i just don't have enough experience to know how to do it! If someone would tell me how to bridge my amp to two channels and changing the frequencies i would love it. thanx, shane

Well first things first. Put your subs back into a sealed box. The kicker comps sound like ass in any other inclosure, they are designed to be in a seald box. A bandpass box is VERY sensitive to how much airspace and the vent dimentions to match the sub. Unless the box was designed by a computer program, or manufacture specs, ditch it! Second, to bridge your amp, you must be sure it can be bridged. Check out the owners manual if you have it, or check out the manufacture's web site to get info. Usually, you use a (-) from one channel, and a (+) from the other to combine each channel to make up a 2 channel amp.But be sure your amp can do that, you don't want to smoke it!
