11524, 6Speaker---> Mono---> Nothing! Posted by Kaoz78, Sep-17-05 03:53 AM
My mother has 95 Talon and over the course of the last few months her car has been dropping speakers like crazy.
They are NOT blowing just quitting. They also are not unusable they just quit getting a signal it seems.
My 99 Eclipse was doing the same thing until I installed an aftermarket HU. She already has a Pioneer HU, so I know that isn't going to solve this.
Any ideas? Or is this a common thing?
Thanks for any input.

what comes to mind is an internal amp fault. pull the radio and test that it is giving a a/c voltage signal from the speaker leads. if it is, and the wiring is good, then the headunit is at fault. make sure you have a good ground connection while your back there.

My Pioneer did this. First thing to note, Pioneer sucks ass. Second, i had a short in my harness and that was causing the same thing. Check the harness.

This is what I have decided. I haven't checked it out yet though. Thanks for the replies.

i'd say check the wiring at first. open the doors and see if the wires are falling off the speakers
