11141, Amp in protect mode Posted by bzoss, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
My friend has a Memphis amp, and for some reason it keeps going into unbalanced DC protect mode. What the hell does that mean, and how would I fix it.
Here are just a few things we have checked: Ground is solid. Replaced the head unit Replaced the woofers Added a 1.2f Cap and checked all the fuses.
I don't know why the hell the amp is doing this, maybe someone out there can help us out.
Thanks
bzoss

What ohm subs are you trying to run, and how are you trying to run them? Also what model amp is it?

word up.
a few other things...
have you made sure that the ground is GOOD? even if its clean and secure and whatnot, a poor location could cause some problems. i was thinking there could be some wierd a/c ripple issue, but the cap would take care of that.
