i'm trying to run the ignition kill switch on the coil pack ground wire. i bought a 20amp single throw toggle and will mount it on the shifer, hidden under the shift boot. will that be enough or should i get a bigger one? let me know...chris

im pretty sure that should be fine, but make sure you fuse it at the coil (for no more than 20amps).

the ignition coil doesn't run at a higher amperage than that? usually you use kill switches on signal wire not power wires. that way you don't have to worry about current and melting wires if you get a short. but yes if you're set on using that wire please make sure you fuse it. i would suggest finding a different wire to 'kill' though.

You want to use your switch to trigger a relay and have the relay inline with your coil pack.

most alarms kill one've the wires in the ignition harness. i can't remember which color one off hand right now... another one people like to do is a kill switch for the fuel pump (with a relay of course).

When i get my car back ill post pictures of my ignition kill switch. Yea its wired into the harness but was done awhile ago so i cant tell you off the top of my head what wires i used. (note! i may not have my car back for awhile its in the shop, if you -really- want info PM me and ill make sure to PM back pics of my setup asap)
