10545, does this look right? Posted by WarnerC, Feb-19-05 07:24 PM
Does this look like the right mounting kit for a 99 eclipse? The flaps on the side make it a little wide.. and I didnt want to be too forceful with it..

You stole my freaking radio?!?!?!?! jk, but seriously, I had that exact same one stolen. I've seen brakets like that for our cars with the little cubby hole on the bottom if that's what you're talking about :shrug.
Careful with the volume knob, the chrome will start to chip off lol.
edit - GOD that picture brings back memories, fucking thieves.

I used to have an alpine and it got stolen. Mother f-in thieves stole it right in front of my house. Oh well shit happens.... they'll get theirs in the end. But I was more curious about the flaps on the sides of it.

Oh, are you talking about them big motha fuggin black things on the side? I'm not sure, the stock radio has flaps on the sides, but only one on each side.
I'll let someone who has actually seen one take care of this lol...

i cant really tell but is there also two smaller flaps on each side close to the actual kit? i believe you would want to break the larger ones off and use the smaller? cant see clearly though by the pic

When I put my first head unit in I did not use a kit to instal it and it looked/worked just fine. My headunit came witha sleeve that went around it and the stock radio had brackets that I just screwed to that sleeve and then I mounted it in the stock location. If you want to use that kit and those big ones are too wide then I'm assuming you either can not use that kit or they have to be broken off and the smaller ones need to be used.

Yeah why did you buy a kit? Our stock mounting brackets bolt directly to 95% of the aftermarket head units. I have an alpine and it's mounted directly to the stock brackets.
