the talon i just picked up is prewired for me with 0ga wire....went to put in amp today and ran into a little problem. how the hell do i hook a 0ga ring terminal to my amp which requires only small connectors??

0ga doesn't mean crap if you don't need it man. How many amps are you running? What kind of wattage? If your amp has a 1/4" blade connector for power it takes 8ga wire, if it has a 1/2" blade connector it takes 4ga.

You're gonna have to take that 0ga to a distribution block and go from that block to your amps. But I bet that 0ga is just a waste of wire, probably can run what you have off 4ga.

agreed...i dont know of an amp that can connect to 0ga power wire. its meant to be fed into a block, and smaller wires run to your amps. my buddy in school had 0ga power wire...and he was running 4 amps, 4 12" subs, and was also amplifying all this in dash speakers. but still, he had a block to split everything off. if you dont have a big system (more than 3 subs) i would just replace everything with 4ga or something...cuz that is severe overkill on an ordinary system.

I would either split it like said above or rewire the correct gauge. I don't know if I would trust someone else's work after seeing how bad people mess stuff up when it comes to doing installs.

i agree, i definitely dont need anything close to 0ga wire....10ga is good for what I need. I checked the wiring right from the battery back to the trunk and it all looked good. So i put the 0ga into a distribution block down with my spare tire and ran 10ga from there to the amp.

What size amp and sub are you pushing? You may need bigger than 10. The typical minimum size for a set up is 8ga.
