Ok, first off I have a mostly stock system. Stock speakers and eclipse radio. Today I got a wheel alignment, and all of a sudden as I am pulling out of the shop I notice my radio is dimm(Still on but very dimm), and there is no sound. I try turning up the volume and I here a sort of static ticking noise coming from my speakers. Very low, you got to listen real good to hear it. I dont think there is any connection between me getting a wheel aligment and my radio screwing up, but could there be one? I checked the fuse box in the engine compartment and nothing is blown? Could there be a short somewhere? I remember one time when I unplugged my battery and plugged it back in, my cd player wouldn't eject at all. So I unplugged my battery again and plugged it back in, and it worked..That was about a month, weird shit, but I tried it this time(Disconnecting my battery and reconnecting it ) and my radio is still dim with no sound. Can someone shine some light on this problem for me? Could all of my speakers have blown at once? Cause I certainly wasn't blasting my system. Earlier in the day I did mess around with the bass controls and turned it from 0 to +4 but even then I didn't turn up the volume loud at all. Any clue?

Have the same problem with mine. You got system in the back, mine started happening when i install 4 12's in the back and 2 1000watt amps, played for about a month then music got softer and softer until there was just static and this soft ticking noise, all the speakers are stock, but were in good condition, unfortunetly i was sent to Okinawa before i could fix the problem. but i can say i ruled out the deck and wiring, and power to the battery.

Why do you guys put subs on a system that is still stock? Horrible sound :thumbsdown

Didnt have time to install the speakers in the team protoype fiberglass door panels before I left so i left the rear stock, its on the list,"things to do once I get back to the States".

I don't have any subs at all. No extra amps..No stock speakers and an aftermarket radio made by "Eclipse". Going to try to rewire my radio today. If that doesn't work, guess I'll try take it to an electrician to see what they have to say.

Well did you cut your harness and try to jerry-rig it together or did you do it the right way with a Metra plug conversion harness? If you cut you wires and twisted them together (like 95% of the stuff I saw come into my shop) then you probably have some loose wires or a bad ground.

I had a problem with the stereo in my Jeep a while ago. It was a Kenwood deck and the thing would just, without reason, lose volume. It would be fine then slowly taper off to nothing. At first it was weird cause me and my buddies were coming back from Irvine and it happened so slow we all thought we were losing our hearing. Anyways, a tech said it had something to do with the internal amp burning up and that it was pretty well fuckered. Im not saying thats what it is but if it isn't anything else I'd consider getting a new deck.
