Ok, my car didn't come with one, but I just bought a 10 disc one off a member and I found the factory power wire for it behind the panel in the hatch. I plugged it in, and nothing, doesn't do shit. I have my car torn apart trying to figure this out. On the back of my HU there's(from right to left) a big black "snap-in" type with pins scattered in 13 slots, then the white plug with the exposed wires, then another black one with 5 pins, then gray plug, then black plug.

It looks like the two black ones with the pins go down to the OEM amp, and the other goes to the hatch.

Why the fuck doesn't it work?! I've been tearing my car apart for hours. The seller guarunteed it would work so..

edit - Oh yeah, I have the remote too, but I don't see anywhere to plug it in?

the remote??? you have the factory black data cable pluged in right? other than reseting the radio (pulling power to it) thats the only thing i can think of. then you threw that remote thing in there.. there shouldn't be a remote?!?

It's the stock headunit, I've never touched it in the past. I disconnected the battery and had to put in the code and everything but it still doesn't work.

And, I dunno, came with a remote :shrug The name of it is SPS or something. Is that OEM?

i believe the "snap-in" black plug with the 13 holes goes to the changer. looks like this..

the periods are just blank space. and there 7 or 8 pins scattered
in there. and there are 8 pins in the hatch plug that look like this..i think..

Is that all the same wire? The plug in the hatch is a little dirty but I thought I cleaned it up pretty well. Maybe someone has one that I can buy to see if that's it. I'll go post in the for sale section.

I tried to do the same thing with a CD changer out of a Galant. What I experienced is that all cars come equipped with the wires, but need to have the right head unit (ie. one from a CD changer equipped car) to control the changer. What Im sayin is you can't use it without a head unit for it, and even then you need the VIN # so you can activate the player when you first plug it in. It's possible that an aftermarket head unit will do it but I don't know which or what you would need to plug it in, I ended up getting an MP3 player (the proverbial shiznit) and no longer have need for the changer.

Well the wire DOES plug into the headunit already. It's the one with the tape and cd player in one.

My GST came with every option except the actual cd changer so you'd think it would just plug in.

What would I need the VIN# for? How would I activate it with that?

See, I used to have a $600 cd/mp3 player, speakers, subs, dvd, and a tv in my GS until it was all stolen. I don't want to do that again..

Your factory radio probably isn't cdchanger ready though. Do you have any pics of it and the cables and changer, that would make it a little easier to give you a definite answer.
