i searched, but could not find anyone who has one (http://www.slickcar.com/productdetails.asp?ProductID=498) and what they think of it. im thinking of getting one for obvious reasons, but want to make sure it works, and is worth it. any imput is welcome. thanks

I looked it up, didnt find too much on it. Pager kinda reminds me of CompuStar, which might be a good thing or a bad thing... If you want a paging unit, you should look into 2 way alarm systems instead of the pager IMO...

Get a Viper. The best on the Market in my opinion. I have every possible option on my alarm. If my alarm goes off while I am in another state, city, or building it will call my cell phone and let me know my alram is going off and what sensor was triggered. I wouldn't waste money on anything else that may or may not work. Stick to the things that already have a great reputation.

yeah, those work off an FM radio frequency...and do suck. i had one in college and my room wasnt 100 yards away and it would hardly ever trip my pager. even if i was standing outside my door. i suggest getting something a little better like ^^ suggested. something that calls your cell or something, cuz these work on a very "line of sight" basis. and i mean if there is a tree in the way, its not gonna go off.

heres one thats all the rave...i have one and love it. its one of the few that its legal to install the remote start on, on a manual tranny.

I dont know all the details. Basically, if you go to the DEI website and get the number for Viper you can discuss it with them. Basially it is a paid monthly service similiar to Lo-Jack. You pay each month, it activates the GPS on your alarm so if the car gets stolen they can pin-point it to the exact location. AND everything you can do on a REMOTE, you can do on a cell phone. I can remote start my car from my cell phone, utilize my auxiliaries (Doors will open), Roll the windows down, all from my cell phone. In addition, if the alarm goes off for any reason a representative from Viper will call you and let you know your alarm is going off and tell you what sensor was triggered.

this is pretty cool, so like whats the montly fee for shits and giggles, my car is in no way as valuable as yours so I would'nt need something to this extreme

I believe they have different packages dependent on the amount of services you want. I think mine is somewhere around $35-$50 a month. I don't really pay attention because they just deduct it automatcally from my account. It is def. Pricey but about 2 months ago I had 2 guys attempt to steal my motorcycle right outside my bedroom window. I had JUST got back from HIN Miami and my car was sitting outside on the trailer parked next to the bike. The next day I woke up to 2 guys out side my bedroom window at 4am trying to steak my bike. Anyway, after having 2 thieves attempt to steal my bike with my car sitting right next to it, I didnt care what it cost, I was getting the top of the line car alarm.
