its fairly inexpensive and bolts in as DIRECT replacment for the factory unit. while it does not show a large difference in output at idle, it really, REALLY shines at cruising speeds. given that, if you had a high amperege deep-cycle battery such as an optima or stiger, i think the combination would allow for massive current draws with no damage or noticable effects. its a good investment IMO. ;)
