exactly, some amps claim to put out certain amount of watts, but they are not quality watts (if you can put it that way). a friend of mine went to al and eds stereo shop, and they had a power accustics amp on sale. it was the old series and they claimed it produced 800watts, so he bought it. it sounded terrible. we hooked his same sub up to a mmats amp that was pushing a factory rated 600watt amp. and the sound was much much better. jsut because an amp says that their amp runs a certain amount of watts, doesnt necessarily mean that it will sound good. just be careful before buying an amp. listen to as many as you can before you buy it. there is a reason why certain amps are expensive and some are not.
