...have the preout volts running through the system at their max. Definitely turn your bass boost on. The boost adds subwoofer bass not just bass, then turn up your stereo (like previously stated) to just right before you get distortion. The stereo should be pretty loud. That is the limit of sound quality on your stereo and should not be turned up past that. During this whole thing I would have the gain down to about quarter of the way. Then I would turn up the gain with the stereo turned down to half way until you hear distortion. Now your gain is good and you still have room to turnup the stereo.
