166, Better to turn up GAINS or BASS BOOST on amp? Posted by eclipse804, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
Hey all, I have a crunch v-150c pushing two 10" RF Punch XLC's. The Pioneer Premiere head unit has 4 volt RCA preouts. The gains on the amp go from 0.2 mV to 4 V. I have it at about 3 V which is a pretty low input sensitivity. If I want more bass, should I adjust the bass boost or the gains on the amp? The bass boost can go up to +12 db. I want whatever is safest for the amp, which is running at 2 ohms mono. Also, is it bad if the meters on the amp go past the 100% mark when I hit hard bass? Thanks.
