i run 2 12" typer-r subs each powered by an apline MRV-T757 amp, they are by far the hardest cleanest subs ive heard.
Alpine DEFINATLY respond differently depending on the box construction.
skip the Q-logic and build a high quality sealed box (dont skimp!) and you wont regret it.
