"reasonable" is subjective...
Thermal R&D is the way to go, anything else is a girls exhaust

That's what I did, but mine is 2.5. It's really hard to get the pipe above the rear driver side suspention. I'm build a 3" dp that does to a dump and reduces down to a 2.5". Hopefully I'll finish it up tonight.

As far as off the shelf exhausts, That Thermal R&D is really really nice. That would be my first choice.

oh the other question i had was sound. I don't want a super loud ricey thing because i really don't want tickets or the annoyance. Which one would have the best sound? And after looking at prices i realized i will prolly spend more than $500 because i will have too, hehe. Oh and thanks for the help, i know i can be an annoying girl sometimes

The Thernmal R&D has a nice mellow sound. And when you wind it up it doesn't sound like a mosquito by your ear. I'm very happy with it. I was also wanting something that didn't sound so ricey.

Let me get this straight. Theres a girl who put a turbo kit on her 2GNT.

Hmm.

Now the next logical thing is to ask where you are, how old you are, if you are single, and when can I come over. I look forward to your response

Not sure what your performance plans are but Tsudo makes a 2.5" stainless catback with mandrel bends for 269 + shipping. Mine shipped came to $290, pretty cheap and stainless mandrel to boot. Of course if you want 3" that won't help.

ok check this out and tell me what you think. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7914225984&fromMakeTrack=true I know most if not all of you hate ebay, but it's a good price and brand new. If i were to get this would i or should i also get a hi-flow cat? And out of curiosity how hard is the install? Should i just bring it to a shop or not? Thanks again.

Bummer. My girl just left with some more of her stuff. Let me just say I'm not incredibly pleased with her at this point in time...

Thanks for the optimism. I could use it right about now.

On a positive note, I'm going to have a 2GNT with well over 300 whp within a month

Where in MN? I went to the U of M for a few years and moved out to Phoenix about 15 months ago. I miss that city like crazy...

I lived in downtown just on the west side of campus there.

I just purchased a megan racing 3" muffler (85$) and had my local shop weld up that to my 3" pipes. I think the piping cost me about 130-40 about a month ago and he charged me 60 to weld this up friday. I have 3" exhaust from the cat back. It is not mandril bent, but it doesn't have any creases in it either. It helped my 14b spool up a bit faster and my egt's went down by about 25 degrees.

What is wrong with the Apexi units that RRE sales for 490??? I love the damn thing on my spyder, and wish I had it on my RS-T. Althought the RSR unit on the RS-T is pretty bad ass, and stock looking.

I vote for the apexi unit...

The best exhaust out there is also the cheapest exhaust out there, and that is no exhaust. At least on a turbocharger-equipped motor. Might be a bit loud, though, and difficult to get through inspection.

This will be an unpopular suggestion but I have had nothing but good luck with it...

$180 - Pacesetter 2.5" mandrel-bent catback.
$40 - Chop off the gay tip and replace with stock-looking dual tip.

You can stop here, or:

$80 - Chop off the gay muffler and replace with universal magnaflow.
$40 - Chop off the midpipe and add a huge 24-36" glasspack/cherry bomb/resonator
$100 - Replace the cat with a high-flow 2.5" cat
$50 - Have an exhaust shop fabricate a 2.5" downpipe from the HRC elbow to the Cat.

Usually cheaper than custom fabricating a complete 2.5" mandrel-bent exhaust system, and depending on options, usually cheaper than any boxed exhaust. Sounds GREAT - deep growl and quiet.

Actually Ebay has a cheap 3" Tsudo catback system. And its less than $500. I have the 2 1/2 Tsudo, not ungodly loud but its mandrel bent all the way.

Hehehe but it served you well? the pacesetter...

I think if you are gogin the pacesetter route, hack off the whole muffler, and attach a magnaflow Race, or a universal Apexi muffler.

Like I said before, Apexi-N-1 is one of the better exhaust out there, not to mention the new WS series. Greddy is not bad as well.

Remember, you get what you pay for in the long run in quality as well as performance.

Maybe because i did go there and i didn't find what i wanted. I don't think that it hurts to ask a question if people don't like it than don't answer it. I did do a search before i asked the question too. Maybe people are just feeling nice by not giving me the search answer.

As for the "best exhaust," it depends. If you want the most power, the bigger the better (greddy evo, apexi, etc...). THe models for the gst are the ones to get. However, if you are like me, I hate LOUD exhaust, cause I wanna keep my hearing, I would go with a smaller diameter, piping. It won't create the most power, but you will notice a gain (compared to stock), plus keep your hearing (rsr exhaust, greddy sp, pacesetter with an added muffler, etc...).

I was just kidding, no question is a stupid one, and to help answer i like the way the apexi N1 looks and sounds. Get it in a 2.5 or 3 inch if they make it.

I have extrememotorsports.com 3" GST stainless exhaust and I love it! It is kind of loud, but what do you expect from a 3" exhaust...
