The fuel filter is in front of the rear tire on your passenger side. It is right in front of the fuel tank. If you lift up the back of your car you can look under and it is bolted to the frame.

Why would the location of the fuel filter have anything to do with that ?

Well, then, for a 95, it would just go in-line... since there is not a fuel filter in the vicinity. the pump would still go in the exact same place.
