If I were you.. I'd upgrade your exhaust asap.. you're choking your motor under boost. What goes in.. must come out.

it was a vacuum hose that wasnt hooked up.. and then they screwed up my fuel pump, so I had to call in sick and have it fixed.. but its all good now..

After the kit and install, I'm very broke.. but what would you recommend next? I dont plan on anything more that 8 psi intercooled eventually.. I have a starion thats in decent shape..

Should I get a catback? if so, how big? 3" seems awfully large considering the downpipe is 2 1/4 I believe?

Or should I have the starion piping made and put that in?

How important is it to get the A/F and egt gauges at 5 psi? I know everyone recommends them, but I honestly have 0 cash now, and those guages and a 3 pillar pod are pretty pricey right?

You guys are awesome! =) Thanks for help

yeah i was wondering the same thing, how would a 2.5" exhaust be advantageous when the downpipe is still restricting me to 2.25? would it be hard to get a turbo-back exhaust made from 3" pipes (cost?)

glad you got it working. you think his exhaust is restrictive...i'm still running stock exhaust. but i was quoted 250 for 2 1/2" catback exhaust with magnalow muffler. the guy said it would be another 150 bucks for 3". but like cyan asked, is it worth 150 bucks to jump up to the next size? is there that big of power difference?

Glad it is working now.
definetly try to upgrade your exhaust. Pacesetter is always a good product for the money. whatever you get make sure it is mandrel bent and not crushed.
as for the gauges well the only one you really need is the boost one. but the others are very helpful so that you can keep an eye in your engine bay while driving and make sure your car does not go boom.

Enjoy the newly found power!!

YAAAHH!! Welcome to the Auto Turboo club

Get a better exhaust I've blown my downpipe off, and now the DP gasket is ashes. I have a GS-T exhaust. I used to think that was fine since the the GST can make ~250hp... but then I realized the t25 turbo doesn't work the same, and stock GST's are slower than I am.

Also, get an EGT. $130 shipped from egauges.

happy boostin

Even if your downpipe is 2 1/4'', having a bigger exhaust is always better, expecially on a turbo car. Eventhough your downpipe would be a little of a bottleneck, making cat-back 2 1/2 or 3'' will free up the backpressure more than if you stuck with 2 1/4''.

Thats one of those questions that most will never be able to explain other than "the dyno said its better". In most cases its just more powerful with a larger exhaust even on turbo cars with small stock downpipes. In reality though the difference between 2.5" and 3" cat back on a 200 something hp turbo'd car under 10psi is only a few hp (I know cause "the dyno said so" ,somebody elses dyno anyway).
