Does anybody on this site run a compound turbo set up? Not supercharged/turbocharged, talkin twin turbo. Like one smaller turbo helps spool the bigger one?

Typically the larger Turbo feeds the smaller. Retain quick spool and when the larger spools it offsets the pressure ratio.

Check Tuners for a 4g63 setup if you want to see the basics.

No, the large turbo feeds the inlet of the smaller turbo. The smaller turbo spools up fast and gives you boost, as the larger turbo spools the pressure ratio across the smaller turbine goes 1:1. The turbine is no longer doing any work to the air coming in so it doesn't heat it up or decrease the mass flow rate

Thanks for piping in Jason.

Marlin,

Read this:

Again, you need to understand pressure ratios and how compressors function.
