#21287, "Well im at the fork in the road, buy a 2nd gen 4g63 (high milage) or 420a(low milage?)"

i only have 7k to spend on another dsm. Should i buy another 420a with low miles or just buy a 95 4g63 with high miles yikes! Im a full time student and a daily driver. I want whats best for my pocket. I cant afford high insurance either. I have the Star stage 2 here, off of my 97 rs that i had to get rid of (personal reasons) So thats my dilema guys. I need to know what you all think. IF i get the 420a with low miles , i can just run low boost until i get a rebuild.

Keep the kit get another 420a, or part the kit for a high milage 4g63??? thanx for all responses

JOHN

it depends on you

everyone is going to tell you something different

go to dsmtalk and ask the same question and they'll all tell you to get the 4g63.

If you want a reliable daily driver, go with the 420a, imo

But i guess you could rebuild the 4g63 and get a lot of power out of it for less, but there are reliability issues with a car that has high miles, especially DSMs

if it wasn't for the high miles i'd say 4g63.......but in this case, 420A+!

High mileage isn't always bad.. Jeff_99GS just bought a '90? Talon TSI, and ran a 13.6 with not much stuff at all (boost controller and maybe one or two other things..) That's with a ton of miles on the car.. But the rarity and pride in having a 2GNT-T is nice..

Hmm well depends on the milage I guess. I'd think a 420A would get better MPG and you can run lower octane. I'd get the 4G63 though if your willing to overhaul it or something.
