#61894, "$100 shipping for a 97-99 Front Bumper?"

I just purchased a 97-99 front bumper on ebay. The seller has had very poor communication, he refuses to reply to my emails. I sent him emails prior to the end of the auction and after the end of the auction. I just recieved the invoice asking for payment. He is charging me $100 for shipping from Carrollton, VA to Fort Wayne, IN 46835. I think this is excessive. Also he won't reply to me when I ask the exact condition of the bumper, I asked where all of the kicks and scratches are. I am very hesitant to pay a seller with this poor of communication, especially when he asks for this much to ship it. Can someone please let me know if this is too much to ship and what kind of condition you think it is in? Here is the link:

thats rediculous. a body shop shipped mine from skokie, IL to birmingham, AL for $35 through UPS. it was wrapped in A LOT of bubble wrap and tape, no box. the box is what will make the price high

75-100 sounds right if he isn't not a company. unless they cut the bumper into 3 pieces there is now way its going to be much cheaper then 100.

$100 is very normal, even a little low sometimes. I always choose to ship through greyhound. Yes, the bus company. They can ship an entire body kit for arround $70. I never do business involving such body parts without going through them. And it is fast. From one end of the state to the other in the driving time it takes to get there. No stops. I love it. I would be screwed without it. http://www.shipgrehound.com

It cost me $140 to have my front bumper shipped via UPS. And that was using a business address. Shipping to a residential address would be $20 more! I recently sold my stock rear bumper and Greyhound gave me a $65 estimate to ship it. That's much better.

That bumper you won looks like an aftermarket OEM style bumper? It doesn't seem like it's painted, maybe it's just me.

you have to remember it's ebay. If he doesn't send it there's always bad feedback and he will get banned from both ebay and paypal. Has he emailed anything to you or answered any of your emails. He might not have that email addy anymore. I would just sent the money and hope you get the bumper. Always ask for a tracking number.

if you're using paypal, use a credit card to transfer the funds. if he doesn't ship, tell you card company and they'll take the money back and put it on your card. i've had it happen before and they were like no problem and went after the dude.

Ok, he finally emailed me asking me for payment. Apparently he doesn't check the email address that he has listed with ebay. That is stupid if you ask me, but whatever. He is working with me on the shipping costs, he said he would give me the reciept and refund me anything that I paid over. He also said that the bumper has never been on a car and has the factory black paint. If this is all true it sounds great to me. I paid through paypal, hopefully it all works out for the best.

I stand corrected. Kinda odd that it's "never been on a car" though.
