Now, I don't know if someone makes a prefab one of these, but I made mine from scratch. I cut the circle out of wood. Made sure it fit. Cut a groove out of the middle (for the gauge). Taped the gauge in and bondoed the sides to hold it. Laid fibreglass across it. Let it harden, sanded it. Bondo, sand, bondo, sand, primer. It is not quite done, but close. What do you think?

Thanks for the compliments guys. It took me damn near 5 hours to make that thing. I do not think I would ever do it again. It is not that hard to do if you have any experience with bondo and fibreglass. I will try to answer the questions asked above...

It is a center channel speaker.
It is a tweeter in the A-pillar.
Yes, it is very visible. I can not see the 0 very well, but my oil pressure better not ever be on 0 or there is a problem.
The only materials I used were 1/4" MDF for the base, bondo, 2 fibreglass strips of cloth, and more bondo and time. Lots of sanding.

If you have anymore questions let me know.

Oh and that gauge is one of the bigger gauges. Not the 2 1/4, I think the 2 3/8 or something like that. So in theory the holder for a 2 1/4 gauge would be easier. Just thought you would like to know.

Brynden

Thanks man. Like I said, it was not easy, but if someone wanted to pay me I might make ONE more to see if it is any easier. They would have to send me the gauge they want to use and the money to make it, and I will think about it. IM me first though.

EDIT: Oh and wiring is easy. Just run the wires up through the dash out the tweeter hole. Connect the gauge and you are done.

Hey, I've got an idea... just make a mold of the one you have or if you make another one. You could knock a TON of them out in no time at all and sell them.

Just my $.02

Hey Brynden, if you can go without it for a week or so I could make a mold of it and produce these a lot faster for people who want them.
