#26153, "9k and 8k ?"

Why do some tachs have 9k while some have 8k tachs? I was thinking that this is difference between the RS and GS, but that's just a guess and no logic follows it. Thanks

non turbo
at = 8,000 rpm tach
mt = 9,000 rpm tach

turbo
at = 9,000 rpm tach
mt = 9,000 rpm tach

i have driven all but the 5 spd turbo and i know for a fact that those are correct numbers.
