#74897, "Rattle can the body kit!!!"

Ok, i work at a hardware store where i can get any kind of paint for cheap. krylon fusion is like 2.50 here a can. and i can get some nice glossy black paints and clearcoats for fairly cheap. Its either this or go primered for a year. I wanted to buy an hvlp paint gun, but i can't really afford it.

SOOO.... How hard would it be to do a nice, rattle can job on my kit? its the bc2, and it doesn't seem like it would be too hard to sand and all that. Its better than going primered.

Please, helpful opinions ONLY. I don't want to hear about a bunch of you rich spoiled mother fuckers.

Having Problems? Heres my Three step solution to anything 2gnt related.
Step 1: Put down everything in your hands.
Step 2: Grab a lucky strike, Smoke it.
Step 3: Walk to the fridge, double fist some keystone ice, sit down in the shade, drink one beer, finish cigarette, drink other beer, roll a joint, smoke it, walk back to your problem, and in about 5 minutes the solution will come to you.
If not. Go here: here

If still nothing, your trying to hard. Start over at step 1.

What color is your car.. And honestly I dont think I would take that as a cheap solution to putting a kit on. I do nothing but the best for my baby, and I don't think I would allow myself to put her thru that.

Leave the kit off until you can get it painted right.

I'm not rich myself here but I rather stick with my broken cheap ass front smiley then go primer or spray paint, investing in real paint job / materials pays off in the end, usually lasts longer and looks better. Just my opinion though.

Don't touch the kit til you can afford to get it painted. Go talk to some local bodyshops. You can get a front painted real cheap... less than $100 imo if you know the right people.

it's a lot of work dude...trust me. I'm painting my Talon high spoiler. After the primer I put on about 4 cans of black...wet sanding with 400 every couple of coats. Then I put on 2 cans of clear and now I'm wet sanding with 2000 and hand rubbing with 3M rubbing compoud. It's turning out amazing...a lot better then what I would expect from a rattle can...but the way I had it set up I couldn't spray a couple of spots very well and the paint and clear were really thin and I sanded to the primer...now I basicaly have to start over in a couple of areas...hopfully I can blend it in good .

All this work for a paint job that might last...LOL

But at any rate...if you time is worth anything to you...wait and save up for a professinal job, IMO.

like everyone else said...put kit on later when you can get it professionally painted...it will cost you more time and money in the long run to have to strip your rattle can job then repaint the front. do it right the first time imo
