#4840, "Difference in 1G and 2G exhaust manifolds?"

I picked up a 1G head for my 2G Eclipse and I was going to bolt that on since I have my motor out right now. I was going to pick up some new exhuast manifold studs the other day on-line when I noticed there was a difference in the number of studs each kit came with; 7 and 9. Is there a difference in the exhaust manifold bolt pattern between these 2 heads? Am I going to have a track down a 1G exhuast manifold to make it work or can I use my 2G stock manifold? I know these are easy questions to answer just by visually looking, but my car is at shop in another town where I do all my work, so I can't just head out to the garage and investigate. Thanks!

Nevermind ... I figured it out through some more research. Early 1G heads have 9 smaller M8 manifold studs and the later 1G's and 2G heads have 7 smaller M8 studs and 2 larger M10 studs.

The 2G exhaust manifold will work. The 1G is prone to cracking.
