I bought this car for $300 bucks. I put a new starter on it. Changed spark plug order because it was wrong. it is getting fuel and spark but wont start. I am going to pull out ecu to check the capacitors. Anybody else have any suggestions? The good news is that it is a 6 bolt motor so no crank walk.

Check the timing and compression.

Is it cranking and just not catching? Or not even turning over? How do you know it is getting spark? Have you pulled each plug and verified? Check the plugs themselves as well for proper gap and condition.

My first guess would be the ECU caps. Also check for boost leaks, especially around the throttle body. Look for open or missing vacuum lines too. When you buy a car for that cheap you never know what the PO did to screw it up.

Yea I have a feeling it is the ecu. A buddy that used to own one said that is a common problem. And I will also check timing and compression.
Thanks for the help.

I figured I would ask if the solution was found b4 this became a year old

A candle burning on both ends is twice as bright but lasts half as long.
