#11743, "1/8th mile time, have a problem, please help!!!"

I just bought a 95 GST. The guy I bought it from put a new motor in, b/c the original crank walked. This one has no crank walk. He also put a 16g tdo5 when the stocker was having problems b/c he said the 16g is so much more reliable. Well Ive put a RRE upper intercooler piping, 1g bov, intake, bcs mod (running 13 psi on my boost guage now), underdrive pulley w/ no a/c belt, msd dis-2 ignition, 3" Greddy cat back, and I took it to the 1/8th mile track. I couldn't break 9's! I got one 10 flat when I dropped my tire pressure, most stock GST's get 9.4's. It also seem like it hesitates or lags a bit once I shift into 2nd, but it coluld be my imagination. What could be wrong???

Please help, it is embarrasing when my old gs was running the same times.

I beat an IS300!!!

mods: custom CAI, pacesetter header, MSD ignition, unothodox udp, polyurethane motormounts, egr blockoff plate, ngk iridiums + wires, Greddy evo catback, ported intake manifold.

well, if a "stock" GST will run a 9.4 and you put a slower spooling turbo on it...
Thats probably the only good point of a T-25, INSTA-BOOST!
I'm sure if you went to a 1/4 mile track and gave her a chance to open up, you'd do much better.

13psi is the problem. Rewire the fuel pump, run 15-16psi, and you'll do much better.

what was your 60ft? i ran a 9.5 with a 2.4 60ft

my friend has a 16g upgraded fuel pump and an safc (other mods too) and he couldnt break a 9.4

the hesitation is probably from fuel settings. the computer is use to spool hitting quick so it richens it out only to have to wait a little longer for the 16g

also if the original 7bolt motor crankwalked and he replaced it with another 7bolt its probably walking again. i know of 2 people that has happened to. why you would risk it again is beyond me

thanks for the advice guys, you dont think it's a mechanical problem with the car then?

Also, Im new with gst's and one thing that shocked the shit out of me is the car peels out in first really bad at like 4500 rpms once my turbo is fully spooled and sometimes can break free in 2nd, do all gst's do that stock or is that a 16g thing?

I have a GST A/T with the stock turbo and if I stomp the gas @ 3K, it lights em right up.
