Ok, I was gonna ask if the 420a and the 4g63 use the same size battery, but I think I know the answer to that one .
My question is, when my sub hits the lights dim, and the alternator is golden so I'd rather not replace it, but the battery is garbage. I hear optima yellow tops are dope for this problem, but they're "not recommended" for our cars. When I hear this I hear "we don't have it in stock, and we're not gonna get it, ever." Are the batteries really not compatable w/the 4g63? Can someone reccommend to me a decent substitute? OR (preferrably) what optima WILL fit in our car (so I can just ask for that one by part number)
thanks!
matt

I love my red-top! You can always just order it online. Online stores could give a shit less what kind of car you're using it in. As far as part#, I'm not sure but I think all you need to know is that it's top post and not side. Now onto the stereo problems. You my friend need to get yourself a capacitor.

wasn't there just a discussion here a few months back on the futility of capacitors (.5 farad and 1 farad)? I'm gonna doa quick search, but I feel a member who also teaches physics totally destroyed the theory of caps helping lights..I hear the only help with sound on a competition type level. Are caps easier than amps to install? if so, i'm golden, and i'll try (almost) anthing once (and everything else twice, because i'm a moron)

A capacitor nothing to do with sound. It's all about power. A cap stores power so when you start using HUGE loads of power, it will take some from "storage" rather than all from the battery.
