Both awesome cars and great times for not having slicks

s2k do come with very strong internals"all forged including crank" and thicker headgaskets plus boost can yeild alot of power out of them

built turbo 99 rs-back to stock and parted out
Now: 2003 S2000 Aem ems, 1000cc injectors, inline pro 3mm headgasket, T67 turbo, full race manifold, Tial 44m wastegate, Tial 50mm bov, 255 fuel pump, kaaz 1.5 lsd, comptech bearing caps, j's 4.77 gears, and so much more

I love s2k's. I was supposed to get one, but decided that my future is more important than a car at this point, so i didnt get this as a secondary fun car. I wanted to do the comptech supercharger with aftercooler, header, exhaust, and AEM EMS. The rear-ends are the weakpoint on them. Theyre not that weak, but when your boosting quite a bit of power they tend to break, but then again- what doesnt?

I heard about those cars (there's a big s2k vs. Evo war brewing) and while it's cool there are some fast s2k's, why did it take 6 years to get them into the 10's?

about the weak rear ends. I have a friend with a stock s2k that has been through 3 rear ends and a transmission... He likes to do burnouts and drift and the car doesn't.

they really havent done way to much with them till that last few years as far as good turbo kits go
there are some trapping in the 145 area but due to lack of traction they are still 11 second cars
most people with s2k if they want to put down good numbers either build the stock or swap in a nissan rear end

i've got a built rear end in mine and have 1.5-1.6 60ft's on drag radials no problem all day long

I think its a very fast time for a street tire would be nice to see what they could do with slicks
the 2nd s2k that ran 10's hit a 1.4 60ft on the 225/50/16 nittos

but most people use the s2k for what they were designed for and that is on the roadcourse

built turbo 99 rs-back to stock and parted out
Now: 2003 S2000 Aem ems, 1000cc injectors, inline pro 3mm headgasket, T67 turbo, full race manifold, Tial 44m wastegate, Tial 50mm bov, 255 fuel pump, kaaz 1.5 lsd, comptech bearing caps, j's 4.77 gears, and so much more

What does yours run? That's a pretty good mod list you've got; I've heard s2k parts are stupid expensive, even worse than Evo parts.

all motor with just intake, 4.77 gears and a set of nittos i ran a 8.5 in the 1/8th the turbo setup is almost done lacking a few little parts then i'll get to see what it runs
yes s2k parts can cost alot but the parts you get with kits etc are the best and you wont have to upgrade etc
example lovefab kit for about 7k 1000cc injectors, aem ems , 1000cc injectors, 3inch dp, 2.5 intercooler piping with t bolt clamps, gt35r turbo etc

but those s2k people that like to get the mugen and spoon parts they prices are crazy on that crap

built turbo 99 rs-back to stock and parted out
