#4101, "what is that knocking???"

I installed my springs on my car about a week ago and the left rear side sounds like it is jiggling or knocking somewhat. Whats goin on? I tightened it as much as I could and even had my dad tighten it too to see if it would stop. Hell he even stripped the top of the strut (where the locking pliers "attach"). You guys got any thoughts on it?

I use to have that right after I installed my coilovers. I also thought there was something wrong. After a couple of weeks it just stop and I don't hear it anymore. All I can figure the car was just getting use to being lowered and finially settled, same as the springs. Maybe they are just settling. I have no explanation as I said mine just suddendly stop making noise. I am just making an educated guess.

Check the condition of you upper knuckle/a-arm bushing. When that goes, it'll knock like hell back there. The knuckle should be perfectly centered in the arm. If it is off to one side, the bushing is probably gone and that's your noise.

well the bushing might have gone right after lowering the car... since that will tend to stress out those factory rubber pos's...

Look for clearance problems, I had to bend the metal in the rear wheel well up to clear my tires which were rubbing and making knocking noises.

Even with the stock 14's??? It is only a 1.3inch drop. Is it hard to bend the metal if there are clearance issues?

I have a 1.5 inch drop on 16 inch rims but I have wider tires on them. I just used a baseball bat and bend against the tire to bend the metal up.
