#80505, "question on putting a newer 420a engine in my 96 esi"
ok, i did search before hand
my engine is burning oil like crazy and im sure its either the piston rings or valve seals, i called around and they said it would be cheaper to swap a new engine in than to replace rings or seals. if i buy a used motor, do i need the tranny with it also? my tranny shifts fine and i havnt had any problems with it. thanks

no- just the motor will be fine- bolt up your existing tranny on it- why dont you rebuild/upgrade? it might be better in the long run- considering you wont have much knowledge about the motor your getting

i havnt done much when it comes to fixin cars and shit, im afraid ill mess something up if i tear the motor apart myself. and i cant find a mechanic around here that will replace rings or seals
