#374, "Engine swap on 99 Eclipse RS?"

I was wandering if you could put a 3000 GT motor in an Eclipse RS. Anyone know? I doubt the TT engine will fit, but maybe the V6 NT. Anyone know if it will work and if it will be worth it?

well, i dont know if it will fit but i can tell you the answer to your second question...a BIG no!
even if you could get it in there for less than the $2500 installed price for a stage two turbo kit it would still be slower

Neither would fit. Our block bairly fits into our engine bay. I have swapped blocks before in my car. There's less than an inch on one side toward the bottom and the other side(driver's) is about 3-5" but that's where you piping runs(like intake)

Why would you want to swap a practically brand new engine? The 420A is no weak engine also, heh try to get a custom made supercharger if you wanna be special. hehe

...but I doubt it highly. The 2.5L Chrys is the biggest that can comfortably fit and even that requires cutting. The 2GNT and Neon have smaller engine compartments than the other cloud cars. So I don't think the Mitsu 3L would make it(new or not) but it is a nice engine. You don't want the mitsu engine anyway. They are tough to do serious engine work on. Our 420a is VERY simple(event the 2.4L big brother)

I think the 3000GT engine should fit in the 2000's, since they are both 3 Liters. I dont know how the setups are similar or different though.
