anyone ? come ready to bolt on except for sensors need put on. they come in anodized, red, blue, black or polished . these are not jeep TBs they're made on a cnc machine, the price would be $210 shipped
my friend makes them for other cars and he wouldn't mind making them for the 2gnt, as long as there's enough interest. make a list! feel free to ask any questions
here's some pics, let me know if you guys would be interested, i put this post in forsale and it was deleted for some reason.

I think you should do some testing on them, to see how they work on a car. I think if you have some concrete evidence that they work well then you will see more interest. If you need a guinea pig then let me know, I'd be willing to be a tester if you cut me a good deal

Yeah, I'd like one...hell I'll test it too...totally stock (except for the K&N and NGK plugs)...I'll go dyno that bitch and give you numbers on it if you get me one real cheap. That way you can prove your product

How do they deal with the intake mainfold entrance? do they run into the "wall" since the hole isn't big enough? (this is why the manifold has to be modded for a Jeep TB to fit)

If they work, and I don't need to modify anything, I would buy one now. If he wants to make one to test I will buy it at full price as long as he will agree that if it doesn't work or something is messed up I get my money back or a new and improved TB to test again.
Let me know.

no matter what you will have to enlarge the gasket and intake manifold entrance hole, its not 60mm that is pretty easy though with a dremel

yeah, it would be better to have a tb for our cars instead of modifying one off of a jeep. i'm sure they would be plenty of interest in it after it's proven tested, etc. i would in polished...future though. have to wait...

To get a 60mm to work you will have to open up the intake manifold since the entrance on the manifold is only 54-55mm.

Just wondering...

Would he charge less for a smaller TB?

Could he make them with SQUARE bores and butterfly valves?

my question will be a bit more techincal i suppose i know some of the people on ehre have had trouble with boost leaks in the trotle body will he fix out boost leak problem around the gasket area and the shaft of the butteryfly valve??

idea for fix on the gasket rubber vito orings work wonders and they are probly cheaper then the damn gaskets.....
i use them on my race atv head that run 280lbs of compression and they are mans best friend

not sure what we could do about the shaft leaking though that might not be a problem on these billet throttle bodies as much would be nice to know whats going on with it though =)

Thanks,
Bill

You can have it cheap, fast or good. Pick any two.

If you want it cheap and fast, it's not going to be good.

I would be really interested as long as everything bolts right up and fits like a stock replacement. Enlarging the plenum opening is really not that hard so if this TB was 60mm straight through it would be worth the $210 asking price.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1871196646

Listed last nite 200 a piece plus shipping, available in all 4 colors.
I am not sure if it will clear the neuspeed bar or now, you can see the TB in the picture, thats on an Eclipse, if there are any issues let me know.
I am going to be doing a limited production run of these pieces for Eclipses, so I would suggest getting them while you can. Its possible I will make more later on, but I have about 10 products waiting for me to get started with, and I was asked to do these for you guys, and kind of bumped them up to the top, since you seemed interested.
If there are any questions dont hesitate to ask. Most of the details are in the auction.

VTEC THIS, BITCH!

When you say you are doing a limited run.. how long do you really expect to make them? I am very interested but my budget won't allow me to buy one until at least around Thanksgiving... You should keep making them forever!! Or at least make a whole bunch to have on hand in case ppl like me arent able to buy one right now. Think of the future man!!! hehe j/k

I a making around 15 probably, not too sure as of right now, I am looking into doing Underdrive pulleys with quick release hubs
These allow you to pull your UDP in about 3 minutes, counting the time it takes to jack up the car

I will list more and you can bid on those, or I will contact you at auctions end to see if you still want one at the opening price.

I'm definetly in, I'll wait till you list some more on ebay. And I want to say that Machv.com has a overbored throttle body bored at 55mm for about 300 dollars. So this is a great deal and a steal for only 210. And for the intake manifold I believe Venom makes intake manifolds for our cars that will accept throttle bodies up to 66mm, thats if you dont want to spend $550 and rather dremel it.

I wish you a smooth break-in and happy driving.

If you wanted to sell them straight out on this site or something I have the money as soon as you want it. I'm not gonna be battling for them on ebay though. So if you decide to just sell them, let me know, I really want one. A blue one.

what was the final concensus from gary at Howell about volumetric efficiency with larger bored TB's on our motors. Wasn't anything over like 56-58mm supposed to cause low end loss, or something like that?

I will have to look into the Power stearing pump pulleys

as far as the TB being too big, a large concern was with air velocity, and alot of that had to do with how much the TB was open at any given time.
The car the TB was first put on said he couldnt be happier with the results of this TB.
He also stated he was going to post on here highhopes4rs is his name, but he cant seem to get his password to work.

The 60mm throttle body is great. I've had one for a while and you can tell that there is an increase in power and torque. If any one has intrest in the tb you should go ahead and try it out. I've had a machv tb before this one and it cracked. With the 60mm tb you can tell that heat will not effect it.
You guys really need to check this tb out.
If you have any questions just leave a reply to this post and I'll get back to you.

This is my only concern:
posted by Gary from Howell automotive...
49mm TB flows 252 cfm
52mm TB flows 283 cfm
55mm TB flows 317 cfm
60mm TB flows 377 cfm

At 8200 RPM a 122 cubic inch engine will need 290 cfm at 100% volumetric affiance, using the formula ((Max RPM/2)*Displacement)/1728. Rule of thumb is to go 10% over because a naturally aspirated engine can go above 100% volumetric efficiency because of cam overlap, header design, etc. Go above that and you kill low end because of reduced velocity, go below that you starve the engine for air at top end. 110% is volumetric efficiency is 319 cfm."

i'm crunching numbers on rebuilding my bottom end. if i can afford it i'd be interested in one of the polished or blue TB's. but not for another month. if your still doing making these by then do you think you would accept another order. i'd rather not mess with sensors and all that with the jeep TB.

I understand a bit about VE and TB bore size, and how they are related. I know that if you go higher in size, thottle response increases as the TB becomes more like an on/off switch. The equations are correct, and the numbers for the 2.0 is perfectly right. As is the assumption that at peak efficiency, the VE has the potential to exceed 100%. 110% is perfectly right, and the 60MM looks like it will definately outflow the manifold, unless you go nuts with a sheetmetal manifold. If you have the supporting mods and some way to up the revlimit, then 60MM is volumetrically proper at 10,679 RPM, which isn't feasable. Even with the 2.4L motor that I am using, it is capable of flowing 339 CFM at 110% efficiency, which is still shy of the 377 CFM 60MM throttle body. For this to be the proper throttle body for the 2.4, I would need it to rev to 8803 RPM, which ain't happening, not without a lot of balance work. Even if I bore it .040 over (which makes it about 154 cubic inches) with the stock redline, it only flows 353 CFM. To flow at 377 CFM, I would need to rev to 8460 RPM, which is also not happening without a lot of work. I am not being ungrateful, but I think that some of the people here have gone a bit overboard on their desires for a throttle body. I was wondering if there is any way that you would make a 335 CFM flowing TB? That would be about 56.6MM in diameter. Then again, maybe I am getting greedy, as this is only optimal for a 2.4L motor. For a 2.0, the optimal size is 52.19MM in diameter, which will flow 339CFM. This is the given CFM for a 122 cubic inch motor with a redline of 7200 RPM. Is there any chance of doing any of this? I would pay the price to get a throttle body that was optimally matched for my application (148 Cubic inch with a 7200 RPM redline). In the future, though, I imagine that a 60MM Throttle body would be ideal for when I am turbocharged. I am rambling again, sorry about that.

man if I had 200 bux to blow, looks like a perfect upgrade for a forced induction engine My engine is pretty much bone stock. Would upgarding the powersteering pulley be worth it? I know the reason why we upgrade our crank pulleys is because they way a freakish amount.

our ps pulleys are somewhat light, not too bad, if they were to come out with some smaller diameter, lighter pulleys then I could see a nice gain, but I think NSL is kinda testing the water with these TB's with the 2gnt crowd to see what the demand is, so we'll see

Hey guys, the main part of the TBs is complete, well 10 of them are as of right now, just about to leave for anodizing, right now my only issue is the springs, we were having a out of state company do them, but they are backlogged big time, and I really dont want to make them all by hand, so we are going to source out a company here locally who can do them, and we will hopefully have the springs done in time for the TBs to be finished up, and ready to be assembled.

Things are getting a little depressing at this point.
So far 3 people have sent in payment, I have a total of 16 people counting the 5 from Ebay, who have told me payment is on the way, most of them were from over a week ago.
Please inform me via email if you ahve sent in payment and you are not on this list

Yeah I'll let ya know when my payment leaves,, it all pretty much depends on whether or not my block is toast... if it IS, I'm gonna have to put allll my money towards a new block,, if not, i'll have plenty left over for the TB!!

Mechanic is a shifty mother fucker,, never home,, never answers messages/calls... : ...But if i'd taken it to a reputable shop I'd be paying 3x more..

Hi, I'm Phillip. I'm the first name on the TB status page. I was wondering when shipping was and if you solved your spring problem yet. I don't want to rush you, I'm just curious on when shipping will be. I'll install it the day I get it and possibly eliminate doubts on the products effectiveness and spark further interest in your product.

I wish you a smooth break-in and happy driving.

I know that everyone has doubts. But 60mm is the way to go.

When I ordered the tb I wondered myself.
The guy i ordered from was easy to work with and will help you out as much as he can. I hate to say it but this tb is about as good as it gets, for the price and for the materials used.
In the long run as I see it, the buildup to the 60mm tb is a good idea.

Can you get away with out boring the manifold to 60mm At least right away? Would you gain or loose power with out boring the manifold to 60mm with the 60mm TB?

Thanks, Jason Mcclure

Yes, you can should still be able to gain power without boring. The stock TB is bored at 52mm, the intake manifold is bored to about 55mm. With out boring, you would open up the Tb by 3mm, with boring would be more gain unless you starve your engine of air like what the guys above said.
