Hi guys i have 1998 eclipse rs that i just swapped a new motor and trans into. I am having issues with valve timing. the motor has done to it as follows: JE pistons, eagle rods, crower springs with titanium retainers, 3 angle valve job, stock cams, aem tru time cam gears, obx sheet metal intake mani, modern performance 60mm throttle body. im having an issue getting the valve to be closed on the compression stroke and im not getting compression due to it. i have adjusted the exhaust cam and its getting some compression but wont start due to intake cam or something still being off and no factory timing settings dont work i have tried already. any help is appreciated.
AEM "True" time gears actually have the timing marks incorrectly placed. Put the AEM gears over the OEM gears and mark the proper times with a razor so that you can set the timing correctly.
