Hi all. I just got a 96 eclipse rs and have been researching to fix all the issues. I managed to get all fixed except for the monitor readiness issue that it has when trying to pass smog. I read that this is a common issue in the 96 2g so I purchased a 99 eclipse rs ecu to fix it. I tried swapping spark plug wires to change the firing order but the cranking sounded worse. I tried about 3 firing orders since I've been seeing different info online. Are there any other things I need to do when swapping to 99 ecu? Car starts fine when I put back the old ecu.

Contacts on the 99 harness is different from the 96 harness. I had tried running a 97 ecu on my 99 and it was barely staying alive..
